Courtesan has many synonymes, like callgirl, escort, etc, and they’re the middle class amongst other whores.

They’re merchandising more organized than the more common soliciter, often from an indoor location, and they’re having a more picky attitude towards the customers.

The courtesan is not desperate, and she’ll not sleep with almost anyone, like her less fortunate sisters in whoring.

The courtesan is not more moral than the soliciter, but she do not provoke in the same way, and do not threathen the fabric of society half as much.

At least the courtesan is smarter than the common whore.
